The unexpected miracle
The first batch of tomato plants were fun. It was novel to pick a tomato and pop it in the mouth to taste the sweet tangy fruit. As the season progressed, there was a massive production of tomatoes every day. It was relentless. What really bothered me though was that the leaves were so ugly and smelled funny. So before the last tomatoes ripened, I uprooted and got rid of all ten plants, scraped up the fallen and rotting tomatoes that I could see under all those ugly leaves and slept very well that night. …more
